Christy Laird and her daughter, Kayla Williams, are the co-founders of the new non-profit organization called “Automobile Service Assistance,” or ASA for short. “We just kept talking about how there is a resource that’s needed here in South Carolina to assist with car maintenance, especially because the price of automotive repair maintenance has gone up almost 23% just in the past 2 to 3 years,” said Williams. The program aims to pay for a portion of expenses associated with automobile repairs that occur from a breakdown, or even general maintenance costs like oil changes (Williams says transmission and engine replacements…

That’s about all most know on the subject, but the life story of Ralph R. Teetor is loaded with timeless value. More than just a gimmick or a footnote in automotive history, the man put into practice several valuable principles he attributed to his career and personal success, and I would have to agree it was adhering to those ideals which helped…

Delays of up to a month at the Port of Vancouver, driven by heightened vehicle imports and a shortage of railcars, are prompting automakers that ship vehicles through the West Coast logistics hub to enact elaborate contingency plans to get vehicles to Canadian dealers. Facing weeks of waiting at Vancouver’s Annacis Auto Terminal, Hyundai Auto Canada, for one, has begun diverting vessels to ports in the United States, where vehicles are offloaded, placed on railcars and shipped across the border into Canada. The rerouting is no simple task, said company CEO Don Romano, but it beats a month of idling…

Problem: “The dealership ripped me off” If the car salesperson you worked with didn’t keep promises or you suspect fraud, you might have a case. But don’t make wild, unfounded accusations. Instead, use any documentation you can find. If you think you paid way too much, reference the Edmunds Suggested Price as proof of the vehicle’s market value and an acceptable price. There are also times when people go overboard on the options they purchase in the F&I room before signing a contract. Things such as extended warranties or curbed wheel coverage can add thousands to the loan price and…
