Ford unveiled the 2027 F-150, bringing a fresh base powertrain and a special edition that carries the Carhartt name. The new model swaps the previous twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 for a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, a change that shifts peak torque to a lower engine speed, which in turn helps drivers haul heavier loads with less strain.
Across the lineup, the automaker refreshed the front-end styling and wheel options. The XLT receives a cleaner grille layout, while the Lariat adopts a more detailed design that adds visual depth. The King Ranch and Platinum versions each get subtle grille tweaks, and the top-tier Platinum model is fitted with new 22-inch wheels that give the truck a more commanding stance.
Engine and Performance Upgrades
The updated V-6 generates 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, matching the output of its predecessor but delivering that torque at 2,250 rpm instead of the earlier 3,500 rpm. By reaching maximum pulling power earlier in the rev range, the truck offers stronger low-end performance, which is especially beneficial when climbing hills or pulling trailers.
In addition to the refreshed engine, the company broadened the availability of its 5.0-liter V-8, now offered as an option on the King Ranch and Platinum trims. The existing EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 and the PowerBoost hybrid remain in the catalog, giving buyers a range of power choices for different driving needs.
BlueCruise with Towing
The latest F-150 introduces BlueCruise with Towing, a driver-assist system that permits hands-free operation on more than 130,000 miles of divided highways while a trailer is attached. The technology monitors trailer weight and automatically reduces the maximum speed to 75 mph, with further reductions if it detects trailer sway or other destabilizing conditions.
This feature aims to reduce driver fatigue on long hauls, allowing the operator to keep both hands on the wheel when the system is not engaged and to rely on precise speed control when it is active.

Off-Road Trim Adjustments
Ford also rolled out lower-priced variants of its rugged Tremor and Raptor models. To achieve the reduced price points, the automaker omitted premium amenities such as the Bang & Olufsen audio system and heated front seats.
The Raptor’s starting price is set at $77,790, while the Tremor begins at $62,440.
F-150 Carhartt Edition
The new Carhartt edition showcases the work-wear brand’s styling on both the exterior and interior. Highlights include special 20-inch wheels, the headlights and hood from the Tremor trim, and a spray-in bedliner stamped with the Carhartt logo. Inside, the cabin features two-tone cloth upholstery and all-weather floor mats that bear the Carhartt logo, reinforcing the rugged aesthetic.
This trim is built on the 4×4 XLT crew-cab platform and costs an extra $4,195 over the standard configuration.
Ford says the 2027 F-150 Carhartt can be ordered now, with deliveries beginning early next year. The base XL trim will start at $42,630, while the Platinum will start at $71,595.
