Miko Marczyk, the 2025 FIA European Rally Champion, traded speed for efficiency during a record-setting journey across Poland in an Audi A6 Sportback E-tron, covering 1,338 kilometers (831 miles) on a single charge and earning a Guinness World Record.
The attempt began at 1:55 a.m. on September 11, following the Vistula River through cities including Krakow, Warsaw, and Toruń, before ending in Hel on the Baltic Sea. The drive lasted over 45 hours and took place entirely on public roads under real-world conditions.
Marczyk’s technique differed significantly from his usual rally style. He maintained optimal tire pressure, anticipated traffic flow to reduce acceleration and braking, and relied heavily on regenerative braking. These adjustments helped him average just 7.09 kWh per 100 kilometers.
The Audi was powered by a 100-kWh battery pack with 94.9 kWh of usable capacity and an 800-volt electrical system. Its aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of 0.21, contributed to the extended range. The car’s official WLTP range is listed at 483 miles, making the actual distance covered nearly 350 miles beyond its stated limit.
The record surpassed the previous mark of 747 miles set by a Lucid Air Grand Touring in July 2025. While few drivers will replicate the 45-hour trip, the result highlights how efficient driving and modern EV engineering can dramatically extend range under ideal conditions.
Still, the achievement shows a growing trend in electric vehicle capability. As manufacturers continue refining battery technology and energy efficiency, long-distance EV travel becomes increasingly practical, even if such extreme endurance runs remain niche.
